Known as one of the 10 most beautiful roads in the world, the Col de Turini, with its numerous hairpin bends, is famous in the world of rallying. Every year, the Monte Carlo Rally holds one of its special stages here. The pass reaches an altitude of 1,607 meters and connects La Bollène-Vésubie or Lantosque, in the Vésubie Valley, to Sospel in the Bévéra Valley. A starting point for many hikes, the Col de Turini is overlooked by the summit of Mont Authion. The drive continues up to the Camp d’Argent resort (1700m-1900m), a favorite with many locals; it was on these slopes that generations of skiers took their first runs. The appeal of this destination also lies in its panoramic views, as Camp d’Argent is one of the few winter sports resorts with a view of the Mediterranean. In summer, the ski slopes transform into a vast playground for fun and games.
